Temperature and polish

V 0.9.2.2 of SpaceSlog has been released today. You can see the full changelog below.

Various new planets have been added and any that were already in the game has been updated. We also added new stars that have their own characteristics. All of which can be adjusted via JSON files making it easy for you to add your own too.

Several menus have been improved including how to create orders for recipes.

A frequently requested feature was to be able to place temporary stockpiles outside of your ship, these have now been added. Be aware though that these will not follow you when you leave the current area and anything left stored inside of them will be lost unless they are first moved into your ship.

Radiator vents will now be required to expel heat that builds up within your ship. Especially when travelling near the various new stars that have been added. You can also see the new transfer vent here which is used to equalise pressures and temperatures between rooms.

Changes

  • Improved how recipes are created when brewing.
  • Updated and added new pawn first and last names.
  • Refactored and optimised highlights, for zones etc.
  • Refactored several classes and moved them to components for better mod support.
  • Particles now react to the game speed.
  • Various other small optimisations.
  • Temperature updates:
    • Powered buildings and pawns will now generate heat.
    • Fires can now start and spread.
    • Pawns can extinguish fires.
    • Transfer vents can be placed between rooms to equalise pressures and temperature.
    • Heat Vents can now be placed which will extract heat from your ship.
      • These need to be on the same supply as any ventilators.
      • You can set the target temperature for the connected ventilators (and thus the rooms they are in) from the heat vent.
  • Added several new stars that all have their own distinct features.
  • Stars will now heat up your ships interior as you move closer to them.
  • Added some new planets and updated any currently already in the game.
  • Improved pawn movement.
  • Doors blocked open by pawns will no longer close.
  • Some items will now explode if their health gets too low.
  • Various sound improvements.
  • Ensure thruster sounds loops correctly.
  • Sounds will now correctly pause when the game is paused.
  • Various UI improvements.
  • Updated Godot version.
  • Bribe money now gets given to the ship bribed.
  • Added a temporary stockpile zone that can be placed outside of the ship. These can only be placed when stationary and anything stored in them when leaving an area will be lost.

Fixes

  • Fixed: Could place thrusters even when blocked.
  • Fixed: The crew menu could in some cases show pawns whom were not part of the player faction.
  • Fixed: Sometimes incorrectly spawning faction leaders.
  • Fixed: Factions were not always being assigned correctly to pawns on spawn.
  • Fixed: You could still press the speed hotkeys to bypass any forced speeds.
